I'm so excited! The new school I am going to issued me an iPad to experiment with over the summer so I can use it with my new 4th graders in the fall. So... I am wondering if my bloggy friends can help me out by suggesting some "must have" apps to use in the classroom with the kiddos. Here are a few I already have...- Dropbox
- GoodReads - I don't know much about this app, so I will be playing around with it to see what it will be able to do for the classroom.
- iBooks - No books yet, but I plan on purchasing some!
- BrainPop - This app is just for their movie of the day. Good for enrichment, maybe?
I'd love your suggestions for great math, literacy, or even productivity apps. It's my hope as I become more familiar with the iPad I can begin to write some posts geared towards using it in the classroom for instruction. I received 3 iPads this year to use with my kids. Some of the apps I installed were: Phonics Awareness, Phonics Tic Tac Toe, Word Family (Free), Phonics Vowels, Read Me Stories, Silly Sentences Free, PopWords, Grammar Jammers Primary, Bluster, Handwriting, ICDL, Dinosaurs Lite, and leveled books (E-Making Pizza, M-Making Lemonade, etc.), Young Readers Books, and Rocket Math Free. I do have lower readers so that's why I had a lot of phonics apps on there. My kids LOVE Rocket Math. All of those apps are free. I guess I should also point out these are original iPads (not version 2 or 3). Hope this helps!

DeleteMy new puppy ate my iPad cord and I am waiting for a new one to arrive. When that happens I will send you a huge list of ones that I love. Off of the top of my head -- Sight Words (great for ESS/ELL), Stack the States, Stack the Countries, Jognog, iBook, Pages, Keynote, Garage Band, Educreate(?), YouTube, SchoolTube, Khan Academy, Dropbox, Angry Birds (cause/effect, probability), Brainpop, Schology, Rocket Math, ummm.... I need my iPad to turn on for more. I have somewhere around 60 apps on mine for the kids.
